
Murzban F. Shroff is a Mumbai-based writer. His fiction has appeared in over 75 literary journals in the U.S. and UK. He is the recipient of the Bacopa Review Fiction Award and the John Gilgun Fiction Award. He has received seven Pushcart Prize nominations, among the most honored short story prizes in the U.S. His story collection Breathless in Bombay was shortlisted for the Commonwealth Writers’ Prize in the best debut category from Europe and South Asia, and rated by the Guardian as among the ten best Mumbai books. His novel, Waiting for Jonathan Koshy, was a finalist for the Horatio Nelson Fiction Prize. His India collection, Third Eye Rising, featured on the Esquire list of Best Books of 2021. His latest book, Muses Over Mumbai, a collection of 17 stories, has received high praise from writers like Salman Rushdie, Jonathan Franzen, Robert Olen Butler, Ben Fountain, Amit Chaudhuri, and Jeet Thayil. Shroff has been a speaker at several international literary festivals and American universities.
